Abstract

One form of mass media communications is film. Film is a communication medium in which there is a message. The message itself in the science of communication means something that the sender sends to the recipient. Messages can be delivered face-to-face or through communication media. The contents may be in the form of science, entertainment, information, advice, or propaganda. Movies either directly or incapacitated to be an effective means of propaganda. The film's ability to provide both audio and visual displays can provide a dramatic effect for viewers who appreciate each film's work and become one of the most effective propaganda media. The construction of propaganda in the film is constructed by the preparation of signs and words as well as signs in the film text that form a propaganda technique to influence public opinion in accordance with what propagandists want to create a form of imaging. So does the Black Hawk Down film which is one of the American propaganda films that are used to create a positive American political image in the world. In this research we will describe the propaganda techniques used in the film Black Hawk Down in creating lies that are believed to be true by the people who watch them and create a positive image of the United States.
